Planet Induced Stellar Activity: an X-ray Optical Study of 2 Contrasting Systems

For 2 contrasting systems we plan to investigate the influence the Hot Jupitershave upon their host stars using phase (planetary orbital and stellarrotational) resolved spectroscopy. By combining our Xray and UV data withcontemporaneous optical spectropolarimetric observations we will be able to testand enhance current models for the magnetic interaction between stars and theirgiant closein planets.
