Comparative Genomics of Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus

Accessory Pangenome of the Virulent Clonal Complex 5 and 30 Staphylococcus aureus ~100 Staphylococcus aureus clinical isolates taken from cases of Clonal Complex 5 or 30 endocarditis, osteomyelitis infections or benign nasal carriage. Pooled Suppression Subtraction Pooled Suppression Subtractive Hybridization from 10 libraries (9 or 10 strains each) of S. aureus isolates clinical isolates segregated by clonal complex (5 or 30) & infection type (endocarditis, osteomyelitis or benign nasal carriage). This project will provide the scientific community the accessory genome of the virulent CC 5 and 30 and a large list of ORFs associated with virulence. This is also the first report of a SSH based technique being coupled with a high throughput sequencing platform.
