Stream temperature and discharge for the Kuparuk river in 2001. Each summer, water temperature and stream discharge are determined for the Kuparuk River. In recent years, dataloggers have measured stream temperature and stream height at regular intervals. The Kuparuk River data is maintained by Doug Kane on the Water and Environmental Research Center at UAF (http://www.uaf.edu/water/projects/NorthSlope/upper_kuparuk/uk_river/uk_river.html) Stream height is converted into stream discharge based on a rating curve calculated from manual discharge measurements throughout the season. The principal investigator in charge of the temperature and discharge measurements is Dr. Breck Bowden.
