The data set was provided by the responsible parties of the SIGNAL sub project “Evaporation and transpiration of agroforestry”. The main goal of the sub project was to investigate the effect of agroforestry on evapotranspiration on a system scale. We applied the so called surface energy balance method to calculate half hourly evapotranspiration rates. For that, half hourly evapotranspiration rates were calculated as a residual of the net radiation, the sensible heat flux and the ground heat flux. Besides the latter energy balance components, also standard meteorological data, such as global radiation, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and -direction, air pressure and precipitation were continuously measured since March 2016. All instruments were installed at a 10 m tall weather mast and the data were automatically collected. The weather mast was installed directly at the agroforestry plot of Wendhausen. The agroforestry system in Wendhausen is of a crop land alley cropping type, where poplar tree strips and crop land alternate. The current data set contains standard meteorological data, the soil temperature and -water content.
