The repository contains understory reflectance measurements across 40 ICOS Research Infrastructure and other forest ecosystem sites in Europe. This dataset is supplementary data for a publication in Biogeosciences journal [1]. The “Pisek_et_al_2021_BG_Table1.csv” file provides overview of the undertaken in situ campaigns at each site as well as their characteristics. Understory reflectance spectra (wavelength, mean, standard deviation) for each site are provided in the “Pisek_et_al_2021_BG_supp_data.xlsx” file. Paper [1] describes the applied data collection methods and procedures.
The provided in situ reflectance measurements of understory layer can be valuable as source of information over the wide array of forest understory conditions contained within the tower footprints of included forest ecosystem sites and serve as an input for improved modelling of local carbon and energy fluxes.
The data were collected as a part of projects from Estonian Research Council Grants PUT 232, PUT1355, Mobilitas Pluss MOBERC11, P7-Marie Curie Actions program, and Estonian Science Foundation grant no. ERMOS32. See further details from the related article.
