We performed a directed evolution experiment under the selective stress of an alternative carbon source on a ploidy series of 1N, 2N, and 4N Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c:BY4741) strains. The strains were passaged for ~240 generations and then whole genome sequenced at the end of the 240 generations. We've sequenced our ancestors at ploidy type 1N and 4N (PY5998 and PY6040 respectively), as well as evolved haploid (Strain name starting 1##), evolved diploid (Strain name starting 2##), and evolved tetraploid (Strain name starting 3##) strains.
