资源简介:
History of Ansumana Yundum
Ansuma Yundum was a Jola from Foni Jannah. He was captured there during a war and was later sold in Yundum as a slave. He was first called Ajuma, but later he was renamed Ansumana Yundum. When Ansumana was selected to lead Yundum some men including, Lang Manneh, Alimami Njai and George and Mam Burna were against him. They connived with the white commissioner Captain Lees in Bakaw to disapprove of his leadership. Captain Lees succeeded Setowell who was killed by the people of Kiang Sankandi over a court case. At the town square, Ansumana bragged that there was no one who would dare to challenge him. He warned Mam Burna that leadership was given to the oldest and he was given the leadership based on that. He continued to argue that he had never insulted them, but he told them that they lied. He said all the others vying for leadership were Manjak, Karon and Fulɓe from the cattle herds. Ansumana left the meeting and went home. He invited Mam Burna for dinner and they had a good feast at his house.
