NRS-20342 | Intermediate Certificate, Leaving Certificate and Higher School Certificate Results [Newcastle Girls' High School]

This series consists of five volumes, in which are recorded the names of, and results achieved by, candidates in the Intermediate Certificate, Leaving Certificate and High School certificate from the year 1939 till 1975. The volumes are arranged alphabetically by the student’s surname, with each year of results reported separately.The first volume covers the years from 1939-1947 this book includes the results for both the leaving and intermediate certificate from the years 1939-1945. There are no results relating to the intermediate certificate for the last two years. There are also a number of loose leaf sheets relating to correspondence from the department of Education to the principal including copies of results for the years 1942-1947. This volume is in poor condition with many loose pages. The second volume relating to 1948-1959 is in physically very poor condition with both covers not attached, it contains information relating only to the results of the leaving certificate.The third volume 1960-1966 is also in poor condition, only listing the results of the leaving certificate, also listed is the results of the commonwealth teaching college scholorship for the year 1963, it should be noted that this volume contains I.Q. scores.The fourth volume covers the years 1967-1975 containing the Higher School Certificate results. This volume is in good condition loose leaf papers include an article about the Commonwealth University Scholarship and a letter about a dispute in results in relation to a students name change. This volume also contains I.Q. scores.The last volume covers the years 1965-1974 School certificate exam results, it also lists results by subject for the years 1965 and 1966 as well as listing the Commonwealth Secondary Scholarship Winners for 1965.
