Abundance of invertebrates in different grassland height in York University

The purpose of the experiment is to study the abundance of invertebrates in different heights of grasslands in three different areas. The areas are mowed, parking lot and unmowed. The experiment was conducted on October 13 2015 between 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm with a temprature of 17 degree celcius with continuous showers and also on October 20, 2015 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm with a temperature of 17 degree celcius with cloudy sky and scattered showers. Three different colours of bowls/ pan traps, blue, white and yellow were used. 6 blue, 6 white and 6 yellow pan traps were used in each area and each bowl was places 1 metre apart from each other. The total number of 18 pan traps were used in each area. The pan traps were placed with a pattern og blue, white and yellow. The pan traps were filled with soapy water to collect the invertebrates and were left for thirty minutes to get the data. The number of total invertebrates and their type was collected from each pan trap. The lab partners are Rachel, Maleeha nd Aster.

本实验旨在探究三处不同生境草原不同高度层的无脊椎动物丰度。三处生境分别为刈割草地、停车场与未刈割草地。实验分别于2015年10月13日下午2:30至4:30（气温17℃，持续降雨），以及2015年10月20日下午2:30至4:30（气温17℃，阴天伴零星降雨）开展。本次实验使用蓝、白、黄三种颜色的诱捕盘（pan traps），每个区域分别布设6个蓝色、6个白色与6个黄色诱捕盘，诱捕盘之间间距为1米，单区域总计布设18个诱捕盘，布设顺序遵循蓝-白-黄的循环模式。诱捕盘内盛放肥皂水以采集无脊椎动物，布设时长为30分钟，随后统计每个诱捕盘内采集到的无脊椎动物总数及类群信息。本实验的合作人员为Rachel、Maleeha与Aster。
