The Einstein Observatory is the second of NASA’s three High Energy
Astrophysical Observatories, HEAO-2, renamed Einstein after launch,
and was the first fully imaging X-ray telescope put into space. It
observed in the energy range 0.2-20keV. It was launched on 12 November
1978, and remained in operation until April 1981.
爱因斯坦天文台是美国国家航空航天局（NASA）所属的三大高能天体物理天文台（High Energy Astrophysical Observatories）中的第二座，原编号为HEAO-2，发射后更名为爱因斯坦，同时也是首台送入太空运行的全成像X射线望远镜。其观测能段为0.2~20千电子伏特（keV）。该天文台于1978年11月12日发射升空，并持续运行至1981年4月。
