The origin of the risk characterises the real-world entity which, through its presence, represents a potential risk. This origin may be characterised by a name and, in some cases, a geographical object locating the actual entity causing the risk. The location of the entity and the knowledge of the dangerous phenomenon are used to define the risk pools, the risk-exposed areas that underpin the RPP.

风险源（risk origin）指现实世界中，因自身存在即构成潜在风险的实体。该风险源可通过名称进行标识，部分场景下还可通过用于定位该致险实体的地理对象来补充标识。实体的位置信息与危险现象的相关认知，可用于界定风险池（risk pools）——即支撑RPP的风险暴露区域。
