PS133.1_6 Dissolved iron profile; surface primary production and iron uptake

Polarstern expedition Island Impact (PS133.1), GEOTRACES process study, Station 6. Presented are concentrations of dissolved iron. For sampling, a Titan rosette equipped with 24 Model 114OC-12 12 L bottles from Ocean Test Equipment (OTE) was used. A metal-free winch system equipped with a synthetic reinforced Vectran cable was used to operate the rosette. The OTE bottles were sampled in a clean laboratory container (ISouthern Ocean 5). Data will also be available on the GEOTRACES database. Primary production and Fe uptake of the phytoplankton community, sampled at 20 m depth was measured via radioactive tracers, 14C and 55Fe, respectively.
