Accidents on roads in Great Britain (UK) 2017, by road condition

This statistic shows the total number of vehicles involved in accidents on the road in Great Britain in 2017, according to the condition of the road surfaces. There were 4,443 reported accidents on the road when the road surface was covered with ice or snow in 2017. It should be noted, that vehicles counted in "road surface conditions" (dry road, wet or flooded road, snow or ice on road) may be recounted for "special site conditions" (oil at site, mud at site). The total number of vehicles involved in accidents that year therefore is a function of the road surface conditions, and not special surface conditions.
