Marine Coccolithophore Chrysotila dentata Raw sequence reads

This study investigates how the marine coccolithophore Chrysotila dentata adapts to ocean warming and acidification over multiple generations. By exposing cultures to current and future simulated ocean conditions, the research reveals changes in growth, cellular elements, macromolecules and gene expression. Findings show that long term exposure leads to increased carbon and nitrogen quotas, higher lipid accumulation as an alternative energy source, and enhanced protein synthesis efficiency highlighting the species capacity to acclimate to changing ocean environments.
