Anatomy of the left atria (LA) of patients with exertional dyspnoea and diastolic dysfunction on echocardiography (E/e’ >8), that were classified as HFpEF (n=34) or non-cardiac dyspnoea (NCD, n=34) based on right heart catheterisation (RHC). All patients underwent rest and exercise-stress RHC and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR). Computational 3D anatomical LA models were generated based on short axis cine sequences. A fully automated pipeline was developed to segment CMR images at three instants in the cardiac cycle (end diastole ED, end systole ES and mid diastole midD) and build 3D statistical models of LA shape and find the 3D patterns discriminant between HFpEF and NCD.This dataset underpins the publication "Left Atrial Roof Enlargement Is a Distinct Feature of Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction" Circ Cardiovasc Imaging. 2024;17:e016424.
