资源简介:
These datasets were collected to evaluate the spatial-temporal distribution of eosinophils within evolutional granulomas formed in the liver during experimental (Swiss mice) and natural (water-rat Nectomys squamipes) infections with Schistosoma mansoni, the causative agent of schistosomiasis mansoni, a neglected tropical disease., , , # **Histological and TEM data: A major ecological niche of eosinophils in evolving *Schistosoma* granulomas challenges the eosinophil view as helminth killer cells** [https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.7d7wm384p](https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.7d7wm384p) **Description of the data and file structure** These datasets were collected to evaluate the spatial-temporal distribution of eosinophils within evolutional granulomas formed in the liver during experimental (*Swiss* mice) and natural (water-rat *Nectomys squamipes*) infections with *Schistosoma mansoni*, the causative agent of schistosomiasis mansoni. All data refer to the histopathology of hepatic granulomas in mice with acute and chronic *S. mansoni* infection (n=6 mice/group) or in water rats naturally infected with this parasite (n=4). Liver sections were serially acquired, stained, and digitalized through whole slide imaging (WSI). Liver fragments were also processed for transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and the resulting micro...,
