Selection of cold-resistant scallop strains and their transcriptomic response to cold stress

In this study, we first determined the lower limit of the median lethal temperature (LT50) for Bohai Red scallops and then stressed the Bohai Red scallops with this LT50. Scallops that survived the cold stress (EL group) were used as brood stocks to reproduce the cold-resistant offspring (F1EL), and the unselected Bohai Red scallops (C group, or CG) were used to produce the control offspring (F1C). RNA-seq was employed to analyze differentially expressed genes in the EL and C groups under cold stress conditions.
