The recent increase in the prevalence and number of the invasive cases of group A streptococcal (GAS) infection has raised concerns. Mortal cases have been reported in various centers, including our country. To investigate this situation, whole genome sequence analysis was performed on GAS strains those were isolated from three different clinical samples (pleural fluid, blood, urine) which were sent to our laboratory, using next-generation sequencing methods, and were compared with the virulence factors of NCBI GenBank throat swab isolates.
