Uncovering Bovine Immune Cell Heterogeneity through Single-Cell Transcriptomics

This study used single-cell RNA sequencing to profile peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from Australian Angus cattle and investigate immune response variability to a clostridial and leptospiral vaccine. It provided insights into distinct differentiation states gene expression repertoire within cell clusters. By comparing animals with high versus low delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) responses, it identified distinct immune cell composition and signaling differences associated with immune response.
