Genome and transcriptome sequencing of osmotrophic euglenid Rhabdomonas costata

Euglenoids represent a group of protists with diverse modes of feeding including phagotrophy, osmotrophy, phototrophy and mixotrophy. Until today, draft nuclear genome of autotrophic species Euglena gracilis and transcriptomes of several autotrophic species together with secondary osmotroph Euglena longa have been published, while omic data for primary heterotrophs are completely missing. In this project we are trying to partially fill the gap by presenting genomic and transcriptomic drafts of primary osmotroph Rhabdomonas costata.
