Transcriptomic sequencing of the GaMYB- and GaGST-VIGS petals

To provide further understandings underlying the molecular mechanisms of the GaMYB- and GaGST-VIGS lines, the G. arboreum petal samples after injecting the GaMYB and GaGST segments-harboring vectors were respectively compared with those empty vector injections. Samples were collected at stages II and III (3 and 6 days after injection, respectively), at which period of time the red spots are largely formed and expanded (Zhang et al., 2022). A total of 4678 (5540) and 1987 (2658) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were respectively detected at stages II and III when the GaMYB (GaGST) was silenced.
