Application of ERAS in perioperative care of endoscopic sinus surgery for sinusitis

Ninety patients who underwent FESS from November 2024 to November 2025 were randomly divided into an ERAS group and a control group to observe postoperative dry mouth, nasal congestion, pain, sleep quality, and anxiety. 45 patients were included in both the ERAS group and the control group. There was no significant difference in demographic characteristics and admission anxiety scores between the two groups. The VAS scores of dry mouth in the ERAS group were lower than those in the control group at 2, 6, 24, 48, and 72 hours after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.01). The VAS scores of pain in the ERAS group were lower than those in the control group at 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The VAS scores of nasal congestion in the ERAS group were lower than those in the control group at 24, 48, and 72 hours after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). The sleep quality scores of ERAS group at 24h, 48h, and 72h after surgery were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Before discharge, the anxiety score of the ERAS group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).
