High-throughput sequencing data of the 18S rDNA V4 region from Tripos single cells

Single cells of Tripos were isolated from fixed net samples collected in Shandong coastal waters and the South China Sea. Phytoplankton samples were collected using a 20 um-mesh plankton net vertically towed from a maximum depth of approximately 200 m to the surface. Net samples were transferred into pre-rinsed wide-mouth bottles and gently sieved through a 200 um mesh to remove large zooplankton. The 18S rDNA V4 region was amplified by PCR and sequenced using high-throughput sequencing. These data were generated to investigate Tripos species diversity, characterize intragenomic sequence variation of the 18S rDNA V4 region, and provide reference sequences for Tripos.
