This data set contains particle mean size, abundance, and volume size distributions for particles within two size ranges 1.25-250 microns (type B) and 2.5-500 microns (type C). These measurements were collected by a LISST-Deep on a CTD rosette lowered from a ship at discrete stations during cruises for the Northern Gulf of Alaska Long Term Ecological Research (NGA LTER) project. The LISST-Deep estimates particle size distribution (PSD) by inverting scattering intensities measured over a range of small angles on a multi-ring detector. Measurement range for type B is 1.25 µm to 250µm (WSD201807, TGX201904, SKQ201915S, TGX201909) and type C is 2.5µm to 500µm (SKQ201810S). This dataset also contains a zip file containing one txt file of supplemental data for each csv. These txt files describe the size classes and the background data used in the corresponding csv. The LISST-Deep (Serial Number 4025, manufactured by Sequoia Scientific, Inc.) collected data during the spring and summer 2018 cruises, and during the spring, summer, and fall 2019 cruises. During the fall 2019 cruise (TGX201909), a depth offset in the instrument rendered data within the first ~300 meters of the water column unrecoverable.
