Metagenomic analysis of the gut microbiome in the GastricBypass cohort

This study is a prospective cohort study based on 70 patients with severe obesity (BMI > 35.0 kg/m2) undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery (either Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) (n=30) or sleeve gastrectomy (SG) (n=40)). Fecal samples were collected 1-7 days prior to surgery and follow-up fecal samples were collected three, six, and 12 months after the surgery.
