Slovenian pop and folk-pop music, 2023

The study was conducted in 2022/2023 as part of the research project "Slovenian Popular Folk Music as Politics: Perceptions, Receptions, and Identities", which is being carried out at the Center for the Study of Culture and Religion at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. The research team conducted focus groups to identify the interpretative frameworks that audiences use for the consumption and reception of popular and Slovenian folk music. The questions and discussion topics covered the audience's relationship with music, music consumption habits, mechanisms of consumption, the recognition and significance of Slovenian folk music, and related themes. A total of 12 focus groups were conducted. This study is part of a larger research project, within which other datasets are already available in the ADP (ADP IDNo: NZG221, NZG222, and SJM211-thematic section on Music). Nikolaj Fišer, Gabriele Steffe and Sofija Zavratnik Kain are students enrolled in the Master's level of the Cultural Studies program, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.
