This data set includes a compilation of river chemistry data extracted from 1,356 scientific papers. The primary purpose of this dataset was to analyze carbon isotopes of fluvial DIC on a global scale. A total of 4,730 carbon isotope measurements are compiled from 612 rivers spanning every continent. When available, other river chemistry data were also extracted and added to the data set. This additional data included; DIC, HCO3, CO3, Ca and Mg concentrations, pH, alkalinity, dissolved pCO2, and latitude and longitude.
