<b>Transmission and hedge balance of virus-encoded cholera toxin genes in global habitats</b>

Cholera is a highly contagious disease caused by Vibrio cholerae, which endangers human health, causes economic losses and overwhelms public health services. Although the impact of Vibrio cholerae on human health has been extensively studied, limited information is available about the acquisition and transmission of cholera toxin genes by V. cholerae across different environments. In this work, we investigated the transferring of cholera toxin genes between viruses and bacteria from different habitats by collecting viral and bacterial genomes containing the cholera toxin genes from IMG/VR, Refseq, and Enterobase databases.
霍乱是由霍乱弧菌(Vibrio cholerae)引发的高传染性疾病,其不仅威胁人类健康、造成经济损失,还会压垮公共卫生服务体系。尽管学界已针对霍乱弧菌对人类健康的影响开展了广泛研究,但关于霍乱弧菌在不同环境中获取与传播霍乱毒素基因的相关信息仍较为匮乏。本研究通过从IMG/VR、Refseq及Enterobase数据库中采集携带霍乱毒素基因的病毒与细菌基因组,探究了不同生境下病毒与细菌之间的霍乱毒素基因转移情况。
