This dataset presents monthly mean aerosol optical depth (AOD) data at the 100-li (50-kilometer) scale for Sri Lanka in 2016. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) is a critical parameter characterizing the extinction capability of atmospheric aerosols, representing the attenuation capacity of aerosols in the vertical total atmospheric column over a specific location to electromagnetic waves. This value is dimensionless, varies with different wavelengths, and its variation pattern generally conforms to a logarithmic relationship.
