**Overview**
This data package contains all the information about alcoholic beverages, their local options either wet or dry, sales and permits issued by the State Liquor Authority across New York State.

**Description**
The State Liquor Authority (SLA) regulates the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages. The SLA maintains offices in New York City, Albany (which serves as the agency headquarters), and Buffalo. Towns can determine whether they want to be wet, dry or partially dry through local option elections. This dataset contains a complete list of all the relevant details regarding local options. The New York State Alcohol Beverage Control Law (ABCL) specifies that no manufacturer or wholesaler shall sell to any retailer nor shall any retailer purchase any alcoholic beverages unless these beverages are labeled in accordance with the Authority's Rules and Federal Regulations and unless such label shall be registered with and approved by the State Liquor Authority. The SLA’s Licensing Bureau is responsible for the statewide processing of licenses, license renewals, permits and brand label registrations. All must be consistent with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law. Base information corresponds to that provided, by applicants, on various permit applications. Processing time is contingent upon review within the Licensing Bureau. A list of active permits is also available in this data package.
