This FAIRsharing record describes: A data management plan is a required as part of a proposal to the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) describing how each proposal will follow NSF policy on managing, disseminating and sharing research results. All data management plans should be in compliance with the NSF's data sharing policy as outlined in the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) XI.D.4. NSF-funded investigators are expected to share with other researchers, at no more than incremental cost and within a reasonable time, the primary data, samples, physical collections and other supporting materials created or gathered in the course of work under NSF awards.
