An Investigation of the Economic and Social Value of Selected NOAA Data and Products for Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) A Report to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center

This final report includes quantitative economic estimates of the potential benefits of improved tropical cyclone forecast information along the Gulf and Atlantic coastlines and of the benefits from application of improved information in four specific sectors of the economy. These sectors are aviation, energy (both electricity and natural gas), irrigated agriculture, and recreational boating.
