资源简介:
The kernos, who allegedly was found in the surroundigs of Troy, is dated between 1190 and 1050 BC. The vessel is composed of vessels with narrow spouts, which are connected by an uplifted strap handle. The surface is painted with circumferential lines, short strokes, angles, crooks etc. in brown color. In later times the kernos consisted of several connected vessels and was used in the mystery cults of fertility and mother goddesses like Artemis, Rhea or Kybele. It is assumed that the vessels were filled with food which was eaten by the cult participants afterwards. The purpose of the earlier kernoi is now known.
