Preoperative rectus femoris muscle ultrasound for identifying frailty and predicting postoperative recovery after cardiac surgery

Data was collected for the research project relating to the potential use of the rectus femoris muscle ultrasound examination in identifying frailty and predicting postoperative recovery in elective cardiac surgery. Variables include patient demographics, physical performance, predicted risk of mortality (using logistic Euroscore), haematological laboratory measurements on haemoglobin and albumin concentrations before surgery, details of operation, surgical complications, length of ICU stay, postoperative length of hospital stay, days (alive and) at home within 30 days of surgery, and 30-day moratlity.
