In this study, we focused on Stem Cells from the Apical Papilla (SCAP) and conducted sequencing analyses targeting all mRNAs transcribed by these cells under neuroinductive conditions. The primary objective of this sequencing work was to obtain comprehensive information on the expression abundance of these transcribed mRNAs, including quantifying the expression levels of individual genes to establish a clear transcriptional landscape of SCAP in the neuron-induced state. Furthermore, based on the generated mRNA sequencing data, we carried out in-depth investigations into two key transcriptional regulatory events: fusion genes (to identify potential chimeric transcripts formed by genomic rearrangements that may be relevant to the neuroinductive process) and alternative splicing (to analyze differential splicing patterns of pre-mRNAs, which contribute to the diversity of functional proteins produced by SCAP during neuroinduction). This multi-dimensional analysis aimed to provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the response of SCAP to neuroinductive signals at the transcriptional level.
