Heat – Elders in the warmest neighbourhoods (2020)

This map shows the percentage of elderly people living in the warmest neighbourhoods of the province of Zuid-Holland. For this purpose, an age limit of 65 years has been arrested. The warmest neighbourhoods shown are based on the 2020 Climate Impact Atlas, which shows on this map the neighborhoods that become at least two degrees warmer due to the urban heat island effect. Older people are particularly vulnerable at higher temperatures*. This card is intended to help organisations prioritise their efforts by providing insight into which warm neighbourhoods many older people live in. You can then choose to be the first to work in these neighborhoods.
