资源简介:
The data list includes the abundance of two rutting call types (i.e., howls and moans) produced by bucks of sika deer (Cervus nippon). These data were accumulated in animal-borne acoustic biologgers attached to seven different dominant bucks distributed in the Aizu district of central Japan. Methods:We designed animal-borne acoustic biologgers using GPS units with a remotely controlled drop-off system (GLT-02, Circuit Design, Inc., Nagano, Japan) and autonomous recording units (Songmeter Mini or Songmeter Micro, Wildlife Acoustics, Inc., Massachusetts, USA). We attached this device to seven different dominant bucks during Octobers between 2020 and 2022. We programmed each GPS unit to obtain the geolocation once every hour and used the data with et al. 2019).File list:(1) diel_howl. csvThe total count of howls produced by each tagged buck (ID I–VII) during the twilight, daytime, and nighttime.(2) diel_moan.csvThe total count of moans produced by each tagged buck (ID I–VII) during the twilight, daytime, and nighttime.(3) acoustic_biologger_for_deer.csvdata_ID: identification numberdeer_ID: name of the tagged bucksyear/month/day/hour: observation periodhowl_focal: the total count of howls produced by each tagged buckmoan_focal: the total count of moans produced by each tagged buckhowl_nearby: the total count of howls produced by surrounding bucksmoan_nearby: the total count of moans produced by surrounding bucksrainfall: mean hourly precipitation (mm) measured in the Tajima weather station (37.207 N, 139.796 E).temperature: mean air temperature (°C) measured in the Tajima weather stationwind: mean velocity of wind (m/s) measured in the Tajima weather stationlatitude/longitude: the geolocation of each tagged buck at the timeforest: proportion of forest areas (including broadleaf and conifer trees) within 100 m buffer area at the geolocation of tagged bucks according to Land-use data as of 2022 based on "the High-resolution land use, land cover map ver. 23.12 (composed of 10-m grid cells)”, published by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.elevation: mean altitude above sea level according to Digital elevation models (10-m grid cells), published by Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.stream: rectilinear distance to nearest streams (m) according to the Digital National Land Information, provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan.curvature: direction of maximum slope based on the Digital elevation models, calculated by ArcGIS 10.8.1 (ESRI, Redlands, California, USA). Positive and negative values indicate upwardly concave and convex curves at that point, respectively.territory: centrality of mating territory, calculated by the frequency of habitat use of each tagged buck based on the fixed kernel density with its geolocations (band width = 100 m)ReferencesEnari, H., Enari, H.S., Okuda, K., Maruyama, T. & Okuda, K.N.
