Dataset for crop growth and pest regulation: This dataset includes data on maize intercropped with soybean, peanut, and foxtail millet under different fertilizer levels in North China from 2018 to 2020, focusing on crop growth and pest occurrence regulation. It covers a wide range of recorded items including botanical family, scientific name, Chinese common name, collection location, longitude, latitude, altitude, collection part, collection time, plant growth indicators, test part, test unit, content of plant insect-resistant substances, pest growth and development indicators, and gene expression of plant insect-resistant substance-related genes. The dataset primarily consists of two parts of data: 1) data on mycorrhizal and nitrogen-fixing bacteria regulating maize growth and pest populations during 2016–2018; 2) the intercropping data mentioned above from 2018 to 2020 in North China under different fertilizer levels.
