We propose that thought and memory emerge from the stabilization of symbolic perturbations within a modular oscillator field. In this framework, each symbolic input acts as an energetic disturbance to the system—an injection of modular structure into an evolving field. Over time, the system either stabilizes the disturbance (learning) or loses coherence (forgetting).
