资源简介:
The main objective of the research is to construct an innovative four-dimensional variational (4D-VAR) coupled data assimilation (CDA) system capable of providing high-quality comprehensive datasets with regard to climate change. Synthesis of observational data and state-of–the-art general circulation models (GCMs) by the variational approach has the ability to produce a dynamically self-consistent 4-dimensiona dataset. Such datasets are extremely required for more accurate seasonal to interannual (S-I) prediction and for a better description of the dynamical state of the global warming and a hydrological cycle. This effort often referred to as “reanalysis” is focused on defining the time-varying state of the Earth climate through the assimilation of in-situ and remotely sensed data such that the resulting fields are dynamically consistent with one another and with the model dynamics.
For this purpose, JAMSTEC have successfully constructed the 4D-VAR CDA system on the Earth Simulator (ES) using a coupled atmosphere-ocean-sea ice-land surface model (hereafter CFES).
Following results are available in this data set.
Results of 4D-VAR CDA system from 1996 to 1998.
Climatological results of 4D-VAR CDA system.
Results of ocean component of 4D-VAR CDA system from 1990 to 1999.
