The CareMedEval dataset is a French Multiple Choice Question Answering (MCQA) dataset focused on evaluating critical appraisal skills in the medical field, particularly for the critical reading of scientific articles. The dataset consists of 534 questions from the Critical Appraisal of research Articles (LCA) exams taken by sixth-year medical students in France. These questions are based on the critical reading of a given scientific article. The dataset is composed of items from the National Classification Exams (ECN) and mock exams from the National College of Therapeutic Teachers (CNET). The articles are in English, and the questions and answers are originally in French, with an automatically translated English version provided. Each question is labeled with skills required such as information retrieval, general knowledge, conceptual understanding, etc.
