Association between Periodontal diseases and Cardiovascular diseases

For the past two decades, the attention has shifted to treat the mouth as an organ dependent on and causation of many metabolic rhythms in the human body rather than just an isolated part of the body. The mouth on its own is a complex cavity containing up to 5-100 billion microbes and oral microbiome, oral microbiota or oral microflora refers to the microorganisms found in the human oral cavity. This review intends to explore the impact of microbes and oral health on Cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
