GAM-generated monthly precipitation undercatch factors for Austria and surrounding catchments and their station-based training data

Complementary material for the publication "undercatch corrected gridded precipitation data to improve hydrological modelling in high-alpine orography" by Maier et al. (2025), which is in preparation in HESS. The data consists of the following: station_undercatch_factors.csv: Derived monthly precipitation undercatch factors of 261 stations in Austria, derived as the relation of undercatch corrected precipitation using a transfer function of Kochendorfer et al. (2017) to the uncorrected precipitation for all valid months of the station. station_meta_clean.csv: Meta data of the 261 stations, some of them were used in training monthly Generalized Additive Models (GAMs). Can be used to train other machine learning algorithms. undercatch-correction-factors_AT_month-*.tif: Monthly maps of GAM-created undercatch factors for Austria and catchments relevant for hydrological modelling in Austria (Danube and Inn). exposed_terrain_penalty.tif: Exposed terrain penalty for topographically exposed regions for the same domain. Used in the publication to mitigate uncertainties in these wind-exposed locations. The preprint will be linked as soon as it is available.
