Ecology Lab 3: Data Set 3- Sweep Net

The following experiment took place on September 30th, 2014 at approximately 3:30 pm in 19 degrees celcius weather in the Danby Woods area located in the York U Keele Campus. A transect tape was laid down 25 metres long and a selected member of the group sweeped the net along the transect tape back and forth for approximately 3 minutes. This process was to be replicated 10 times but was reduced to three due to a time constraint. After the three minutes were up the group members examined the inside of the net for the total number of insect species, the types of species, and the number of unique recognisable taxonomic units (RTU's).
