Epidemiology and prevention of sexually transmissible infections among gay and bisexual men in the era of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis

This thesis explores the impact of national roll-out of the HIV prevention drug pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, on the epidemiology of sexually transmissible infections among gay and bisexual men in Australia. It provides new insights into the complex interaction between HIV prevention, sexual networks, testing and transmission of sexually transmissible infections, and generates real-world evidence to help guide the public health response to rising rates of bacterial STIs in Australia.
