Sedimentological Notes and Geochemical Data Archive of the Halkurki Shale and Konkankoppa Limestone Members from the Neoproterozoic Badami Group, Karnataka, India

This dataset archives integrated sedimentological documentation, mineralogical data, and geochemical measurements from the Halkurki Shale and Konkankoppa Limestone Members of the Neoproterozoic Badami Group, Karnataka, India. The archive includes (1) detailed facies descriptions and depositional interpretations based on field observations and petrography, (2) sample descriptions and analytical methodologies, including XRD mineralogical characterization and ICP–MS trace element protocols, and (3) associated structured data tables compiling sample lists, carbonate mineralogy (XRD), and trace element results (only for Mn, Fe, Sr as the Set-1 elemental data) from the carbonate fractions. This dataset has been created to investigate and understand basin analysis, carbonate diagenesis, and Precambrian paleoenvironmental reconstructions. This dataset has been submitted to support reproducibility of data and future referencing for peer-reviewed journal submission. Future versions will include detailed trace element datasets and discussions, added to the present datasets and documentation.
