A Japanese American family near couch, circa 1920s A family of 6 sitting on and standing near a couch. There are two girls standing to the right of the couch. The older girl, in the back, is in a navy inspired dress. The younger girl, in the front, is in a traditional Japanese kimono and tabi socks. To their right is a woman sitting on the couch, also in a kimono and tabi socks. To the woman's right, sitting on the couch is a girl in a dark dress, tights and shoes. To the girls right is a man sitting on the couch in a three piece suit, black bow-tie and black shoes. To the man's right is a boy sitting on the arm of the couch. The boy is in dark pants and a dark fur coat. The window and decorations of the home appear to be painted onto a flat surface indicating that this photo was taken in a photo studio. The bottom left of the photo has raised lettering which reads "NISHIDA." There is light abrasion damage to the bottom edge of the photo. However, the cardboard this is mounted to has a water stain on the top left and delamination of the top and bottom left corners. There also appears to be adhesive and cardboard along the top edge. Lastly, there are several creases on the cardboard backing. This object is in fair condition overall.
