Taiwan Fushan Climate

Climatic data monitoring with five automaic weather stations at the Fushan Experimental Forest are compiled. Five stations are: 1) Fushan Nursery Station (Nursery), 2) Fushan Watershed No.1 South Tower (WS-1 Tower), 3) Fushan Watershed No.1 North Tower (WS-1 N Tower), 4) Fushan Garden Station (Garden), 5) Harpen Reserve Station (Harpen). At all stations, Campbell datalogger (CR-10, CR10X, and CR7) are employed. Instruments are mounted on instrument towers with height of 10, 6, 20, 32, and 10 meters for Nursery, Garden, WS-1 S Tower, WS-1 N Tower, and Harpen, respectifully.
The Nursery Station has been established since 1992 and is maintained as a base station for the long term climatic record for the Fushan LTER site. Garden station was established in July, 1997 for the purpose of providing local environmental conditions within the Harpen vally especially for heavy frost condition occurs occassionally in the winter months. Two tower stations located at the south and north ridge of the Fushan Experimental Watershed were mounted on top of instrument towers to provide climatic conditions above the forest canopy. Hapen station was established in 2002 and is located near the northern border of the Harpen Nature Reserve area. Occassionally, those two instrument towers were damaged by gusty wind came with typhoon and climatic data are spotted with periods of missing data, Care must be paid in interpreting long term statistical values of those stations.
