We genetically dissected a large collection of about 1050 Aegilops accessions distributed among 23 different species using more than fifty thousand single nucleotide polymorphisms identified by genotyping-by-sequencing. Aegilops germplasms preserved in the Wheat Genetics Resource Center, a gene bank at Kansas State University, were curated with the identifications of misclassified and redundant accessions. The population structure and diversity of these collection were computed using genotyping profilings. The curated germplasms now have improved utility for genetic studies and wheat improvement. The genetic relatedness among the pair of Aegilops species provided a strong clue for the species evolution, speciation and diversification.
