Four decades of INOCA research: a bibliometric analysis of evolving concepts and terminology

## Overview This repository contains the complete analytical pipeline to reproduce all findingsreported in the following publication: **Yeşil İK, Aslan A.** *Four decades of INOCA research: a bibliometric analysisof evolving concepts and terminology.* International Journal of Cardiology(under review, 2026). ## Dataset The analytical corpus comprises **3,124 publications** retrieved from Web of ScienceCore Collection (n=3,809) and Scopus (n=2,404), merged and deduplicated using the`bibliometrix` R package. The dataset spans 1980–2026 and covers the full intellectualevolution of the INOCA construct, including its precursors (cardiac syndrome X,vasospastic angina, microvascular angina) and contemporary descriptors (INOCA, ANOCA,coronary microvascular dysfunction). ## Contents - **Raw data:** Direct exports from Web of Science (plaintext) and Scopus (CSV), both queried 20 April 2026- **Processed data:** Merged and deduplicated analytical dataset (n=3,124) plus the Web of Science subset with intact cited-reference metadata (n=2,608) used for co-citation and historical main-path analyses- **R scripts:** Nine sequential analysis scripts covering screening, merging, performance analysis, collaboration networks, co-citation clustering, historical main-path reconstruction, thematic mapping, multiple correspondence analysis, and sensitivity analysis- **VOSviewer files:** Thesaurus files for country and keyword harmonisation plus .map/.net files for all network visualisations- **Output tables:** Aggregated raw values underpinning Figures 1 and 2 of the main publication ## How to reproduce See `README.md` in the repository for step-by-step reproduction instructions. Thepipeline uses R v4.5.2, bibliometrix v5.3.0, and VOSviewer v1.6.20. ## Validation All analytical decisions (duplicate removal, document-type screening, co-citationcluster interpretation) were independently cross-verified by both authors, yieldingCohen's κ ≥ 0.85 on a random 10% audit sample.
